The University of Winnipeg Opportunity Fund is one such initiative to help make it possible for children, youth and adults to dream big and to gain access to the resources and support they need to achieve a university education.

Our goal is to create an endowed $10 million Opportunity Fund to help ensure access to a post-secondary education for everyone, regardless of background and socio-economic status, and especially youth from inner-city neighbourhoods, Aboriginal students, and young people from war-affected nations and refugee populations.
The University of Winnipeg Opportunity Fund provides a comprehensive approach that includes:
- Opportunity Fund Tuition Credits earned as early as Grade 4 for students who show academic promise with the potential to build up to $4,000 toward university tuition
- Opportunity Fund Bursaries for critical needs such as emergency child care, food, shelter and access to funds for students who are under-represented at university
- Community Capacity Building through means such as micro-financing for new community-based enterprises.
