Leader in Academic Excellence
The University of Winnipeg's reputation for academic excellence is not only a proud tradition that extends back to its predecessor colleges – Wesley, Manitoba and United colleges. It is a hallmark of the student experience today. Annual surveys conducted by Maclean's magazine, The Globe and Mail and the Canadian Undergraduate Students’ Consortium consistently rank UWinnipeg amongst the best primarily undergraduate universities in Canada. We perform best when students are asked to recommend this institution to others, as well as for class sizes, and overall quality of education and teaching. This remarkable achievement is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of our talented faculty and staff.
We are building on this positive reputation and track record by establishing new concentrated areas of learning, research and dialogue in which The University of Winnipeg can further enhance its research and teaching strengths. We are also seeking to redefine and expand the opportunities afforded to our students. We want to make education more accessible to students who wish to attend the University itself as well as our Collegiate. Increasing the number and nature of our scholarships and bursaries are primary objectives as we build momentum and align funding to our priorities. So, too, are the type and scope of services we offer our students.
